The things that we feel compelled to hide… things that we are ashamed to have revealed… are the very things that bind us. It is not necessary to confess them to the world. Only bring them to Jesus and lay them at His feet with repentance. Failure to do so only binds us to our past and limits our walk with the Lord.
The Word say to judge yourself, lest you be judged. Your judgment lets you confront your own weakness. Your weakness reveals your dependence on Jesus. Your dependence on Jesus guarantees you victory and freedom.
What we choose to hide, out of shame, is hidden due to the fear of “being less than” we are. Yet the truth being known, is what we are, only until we become something else. As we give up our shame, we give up our weakness… and replace it with Christ. It is in Him that we must learn to live and move and have our being.
He can wipe all the shame away, and give you the freedom to go forward. He forgives. He forgets. He is able to undo the damages, or help you to face any consequences of whatever it was/is.
They looked unto him, and were radiant: and their faces were not ashamed. Psalm 34:5
Romans 10:11 – As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame.”
Be at peace. Give Him your Shame. And Come Out of Hiding, into HIS GLORIOUS LIGHT!
For you were once darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light. Eph 5:8
Very good thoughts, Beth. I pray it might meet need in the heart of someone who reads it.
