About Beth Ann Smith

Beth Ann Smith is called of God to disciple believers in Christ as she imparts spiritual lessons through music, giving out The Word in an easy-to-receive manner... "in song". She also has instrumentals, which were created to take you into God's presence, where the Lord himself will minister to your heart, as you are stilled before Him to receive His Peace. Beth remarks, "Most worship music is from the people toward God, but with me, it is God who has given me the music for His People, and this music is my spiritual gift in operation for the equipping of the saints. I just want to be a wise steward of God has given me, with its simplicity and focus upon Him. I am just his handmaiden. Therefore, I call my music Handmaiden Music. Beth's main ministry websites are www.bethannsmith.com and www.handmaidenmusic.com ...they include full-track streaming of songs, lyrics and chords, devotionals, and christian content. Beth Ann's blog: http://www.theimageofchrist.com contains spiritual insights, to the end that others may focus on spiritual growth and live obedient lives, therefore enjoying the blessings of God and a great relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and others. The theme verse for this blog is: II Cor 3:18 "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." Update: Presently, the Lord has asked me to be His Scribe...and that He would be dictating things for me to write down and record, for the Body of Christ. Pray for me, please... that God will be glorified in all I say or do. He does the inspiring... He gives the words and thoughts.. He leads me step by step. Without Him I Can Do Nothing. Please keep me in your prayers, that I will remain faithful, as HE, MY GOD, IS FAITHFUL.

Light Exposes… So Let It

Going to share what I just received from the Lord, as I sit in my recliner, looking out across the room, seeing my window. If you have a big enough screen you can see that the top part looks crystal clear as I see out, everything looks normal….but where the light is shining, I see a mess of fingerprints, dirt, droppings, seeds, webs, etc… why? Because “the Light” EXPOSES what IS there, but maybe not seen, without it. Thinking of Psalm 119:130 “The unfolding of your words gives light” , and how the Bible exposes those areas that “exist” in our lives, that need to be cleaned, but that we haven’t noticed before. In ignoring them, we may appear to others as “normal” but to God, in need of a cleaning. ūü§ĒPrayer: “Help us not to be afraid of The Word’s “Exposure” God, but rather, to EMBRACE it and receive your cleansing, so when The Light shines on us, we are not ashamed at our true condition.”IMG_2213

In His Name or Mine? My Agenda or His?

Interestingly, this is what Jesus said to me personally: “If I ask you to do something and then you do it, then it’s in My Name. If I don’t ask you to do something, and you do it, then it’s in your name.” Such a simple truth brings me great clarity..So I thought I’d share it with you all. For me, it will cause me to ponder before taking an action, for I desire to do those things which hold eternal value, i.e. are done in Jesus’ name. Now I hope to be able to discern the difference between obedience to his leading and religious activity done to gain his approval, but that’s actually done in my own name.

In light of this, I recollect years ago the Lord told me also, “Ask not, is your agenda mine….Ask, Is My Agenda yours?” ¬†Simple, yet profound too. He desires to be changing the paradigm of His Children. Not just mine. Are we looking at the future in light of what God would like to accomplish through us For HIMSELF? Are we listening to hear his mandate? Are we obeying his instruction? …Or have we been short sighted and focused on what We¬†could accomplish FOR God? ¬†Is focus of our Christian walk on ourselves? Or is it on Him? What happened to being his ambassador…representing him? He desires obedience, not sacrifice.

What prompts your own actions? Is He leading? Are you following? …or have you been super frustrated trying to lead Him? Or desiring Him to act on “your behalf”, instead of the other¬†way around?

To do some thing in His Name, means “On His Behalf”… authorized to represent Him and His Interest in a matter. Here is a little object lesson graphic I just created to reveal the difference between acting on our own versus being sent to act on the Lord’s behalf. It is a fictitious authorization letter I just penned, to get across the idea.. of being authorized by Him to do His Will…to act in His Name:

This is short and sweet, but please ponder these two revelations…

May God accomplish all His Will in His Children…in Jesus Name.

Amen.

Reward and Recompense

I am re-blogging this article, originally written in 2013, for in the rereading of it today, I realize that I, myself, have been brought into a spacious place by the Lord, since the writing of this article. It makes my heart rejoice in the goodness and faithfulness of God. His Word proves true, my friends. Read this article and be encouraged in your own walk with the Lord. He delights in the well-being of his servants. Amen! ….

The Image of Christ

Reading in my bible today, I noted the passage of Psalm 18:19-24.

open field

David praises God in verse 19 that he had been brought into a large, spacious place…(as in an open field, away from the many distresses that had been a part of his life)…and was delivered by God…and He knew it was because God delighted in him.

Then David goes on to declare that the Lord REWARDED him according to his (David’s) righteousness, and according to the cleanness of his hands(David’s), the Lord had recompensed him.

The meaning of recompense is ‚Äúto pay or give compensation for‚ÄĚ, and reward means ‚Äúthe pay or compensation we do receive‚ÄĚ in return for something.

So, how does THE LORD INTERPRET our righteousness and the cleanness of our hands in HIS EYESIGHT?

We need to answer this question, for He recompenses and rewards His children according…

Lack of Knowledge is Destroying US

Ephesians 4:18-21 gives biblical insight into what we are seeing taking place in this hour:
…18being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; 19and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20But you did not learn Christ in this way, 21if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus…”

Indeed, truth is found in Jesus Christ.. in fact, he himself IS the Word of God. He is the way…The truth…the life…and the only way to God. But are we, as a people, being destroyed for lack of knowledge? Knowledge of Him? His ways? His thoughts? He is himself The Christ, the Anointed One, who returns soon to reign over all the world. Why not obtain the knowledge of Him and His Ways now?¬†

Read the verse of warning in this graphic…

Destroyed for Lack of Knowledge

Destroyed for Lack of Knowledge

Do we, the USA, a Christian Nation, dare follow the same pattern and lose our blessings from God?  Is this already happening? Have we rejected knowledge? Have we forgotten the laws of God? Has our glory now turned to shame? And Will He forget our children?

Surely, a house divided against itself cannot stand…and prayers are needed for this “divided” nation. Yet, not only our prayers, but the giving out of Truth. Lies are quickly dispelled when truth comes in, just as darkness leaves when a candle is lit. The more truth that is revealed, the more light we live in….the clearer we can “see” the truth for ourselves.

Many protestors, and I don’t just mean public ones…but ones on Facebook, or wagging their tongues in criticisms in the schools and workplaces, or even talking aloud to their own TVs in private, need to be given some of the Word of God in relation to what’s going on in our land. There is a need to be still now and listen. Some of you maturing believers realize knowing the Word really “simplifies”your life.. This doesn’t make you “simple” , as in simple-minded… On the contrary, it takes away confusions, and striving, and fears. It is wonderful to embrace the Will of God. It is true freedom, which everyone longs for, but is looking for in the wrong places. Confusion leaves! Doubts cease their intrusions! Fears lose their torment! ¬†Peace comes! All…from knowledge of God…and embracing God’s ways and thoughts.

If you’re saying inside to yourself, ours is no longer a godly nation, it is a democracy, and the other people will tell us what’s what…let me tell you something: Christians FEAR NOT! Now is not the time to be timid in regard to “standing” in our faith…and also standing in our backing our government leaders as instructed in Romans 13:1-5. GOD MAKES HIS WILL VERY CLEAR…as you will see…and these verses apply to President Trump and all our elected officials:

Romans 13:1-5  All of you must obey those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen. Those who now rule have been chosen by God. 2 So whoever opposes the authorities opposes leaders whom God has appointed. Those who do that will be judged. 3 If you do what is right, you won’t need to be afraid of your rulers. But watch out if you do what is wrong! You don’t want to be afraid of those in authority, do you? Then do what is right, and you will be praised. 4 The one in authority serves God for your good. But if you do wrong, watch out! Rulers don’t carry a sword for no reason at all. They serve God. And God is carrying out his anger through them. The ruler punishes anyone who does wrong. 5 You must obey the authorities. Then you will not be punished. You must also obey them because you know it is right.

There…is simplification…knowing God’s will in the matter, whether a Trump fan or not! …you trust God and obey your President. You don’t oppose him. You do right yourself, and you need not fear him or any decision he may or may not make. ¬†Note, obey authorities, yes, policemen, and then you will not be punished…by man or directly by God’s discipline! Honor all your leaders at the local, state, and federal levels. Your vote was your choice. God saw it. Now leave it alone. There. Simplified. Whenever you want to judge or condemn or gossip about leadership, be silent, and pray. Prayer according to the Word activates the power of God, and He then steers the hearts of our leaders according to our pleadings. Or if you are particularly passionate about something, and it is in accordance with Gods word, then perhaps you are called to get personally involved in that area of politics, or your church, company, etc. ¬†Protesting without a plan is not doing anything creative. It is very destructive.

Yes, this obedience requires faith in God. Yes, it requires knowing Jesus. And yes, you will need the Holy Spirit living within to instruct you in this hour. But all are available and ready to be received even this moment. Jesus is the gift that includes all others: wisdom, joy, peace, love, forgiveness, discernment, power, peace, freedom from addictions, healing of wounds, freedom to captives, etc. ¬† ¬†Now, Just take him into your life as your Lord! It’s a wise choice. And you’ll never be the same again.

You see, the World, including the LGTB community with all its plans and protests and good-sounding words, doesn’t matter! The government, whether it makes a right or wrong choice, doesn’t matter! ¬†Hollywood with all the “beautiful powerful people” doesn’t matter! All lives matter, not just black lives matter! And a women’s right is not more important than Gods right¬†to his own creation! Evil always divides! Why do you think there are divorces, and church splits, and quarrels of many kinds?¬†Believers, its us, and what we will do in this hour, that matters!! We rule and reign With Christ, even now, and it’s what WE DO that will dictate what God does with Our Country…because friends, the USA is His Country and He wants us to now stand up declaring IN GOD WE TRUST.

And isn’t this “standing up” to be done individually? As in letting people know in our words and deeds that we love Jesus and obey God? And in prayers? And in our own repentance? If God changes each one of us, then collectively we will become a greater light in this darkened country. Truth will be seen and heard. And love can break through the deceptions! Isn’t this better than fighting, bickering, protesting, etc? Let’s see what God says.

He declares in II Chronicles 7:14, ¬†“If MY People, who are called by My Name (Christians that’s us! ), Will humble THEMSELVES, and PRAY, and SEEK My Face, and turn from THEIR wicked Ways, THEN will I hear from heaven, and WILL forgive their sins, and WILL HEAL their land.” BELIEVERS, NOT PROTESTORS, WILL DICTATE WHAT GOD WILL DO WITH THE USA! Believers, not unbelievers, will dictate what God will do As far as healing our land and its divisions. ¬†And God’s power is great, and He is able to preserve the individuals who GIVE CHRIST THEIR LIVES, even if the lukewarm believers will be spewed out along with the evil ones who may be judged as that healing of our nation takes place. The word says not to fear if brought before magistrates on account of his name…he will give you the words and help that very hour!

Let’s just look at immigration for a moment…a very real divisive thing at present. There are way too many who are looking only at the surface of things…and if we look at portions of Europe and how Muslims have destroyed these countries’ culture and way of life, we will realize that prevention of troubles is a good thing. When immigrants are allowed in to USA, it is a choice for them, yet they must, before coming, embrace American law and American culture, and not carry out hidden agendas pressing upon us their sharia law and false religion. ¬†There IS a spirit of anti-Christ loosed upon the world! It is pervasive and includes way more than just Muslims. Anyone who wants to be free of being told what to by God is part of this spirit that pervades societies worldwide.¬†We must honor God and Christ who established the USA and gave us Our Land. It is NOT UNloving to keep immigrants out who pose a real threat. ¬†We are not killing them! We are not destroying them. Wisdom and Love for our nation and its peoples simply dictates “protection!”. Those concerned about protection of the Muslim faith can make a choice to go over to the Muslim countries and love on them, embracing “their land’s rules and their faith”. And those immigrant applicants who desire to embrace the values and laws of our land can be properly vetted to do so. The Muslims here, who are your neighbors and friends, should be loved on in Jesus’ name, even while standing up for the Christian faith. The desire of God is that they be grafted into his family by faith in Jesus, and loving one another is essential for this to take place. They chose the USA, so they can live in a way as to embrace the law of the land, but if they can’t compromise with Americans because of “their faith” let them return to their own land.

Please pray, for the masses in our country are being deceived!! And the Bible declares that one thing that can destroy his people is Lack of Knowledge. It is absolutely LOVING what Trump desires to do! If you the head of a large family, and your wife and own children, natural or adopted, lived in your house, would you let a group of people into your own house, who desire to destroy you, and your women and children, raping or devaluing them if not killing them, and bent on destroying everything you worked for and your way of life? Destroying your right to serve the true God? Of course not! LOVE REQUIRES PROTECTION! Trump is being used in answer to Christian’s prayers across the land …the part of the Lord’s Prayer that Christ Jesus taught us to pray which declares, “Deliver us from Evil …for thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever and ever, Amen!”

But I hear you say, but what of love for “them”? and I respond, what of love for “God”? Do we desire to hand over our nation to His Enemy? To be a friend with the world is to be an enemy of God. ¬†Satan reigns over false religions and The World, and these anti-Christ systems desire license to do evil. Whether it be The LGTB communities, abortion-rights activists, Hollywood, or just a society who no longer fears the Lord… do they not realize that if Muslims take over the land it could mean their distruction too! None¬†of them have God-given wisdom…so they side with each other? Makes no sense for a gay man to hold a love sign for a Muslim to come in, when Islam wants that gay man dead, does it? No wisdom. Women’s libers who want to abort, do they not know Muslims would kill them for that sin? Neither fears God or they would be honoring him with their lives. Yet, I think that deep down all of society knows lawlessness is not the answer. It is preserving love and respect, and truth, that is important. In fact the love chapter of I Corinthians 13:6 declares that love “does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth.” Somehow that part of loves definition does not get repeated amidst all the love talk out in the world. With this definition of love, are even believers aware of the simplicity that gives to our decision making? If something is not of of his righteousness or his truth it is not “real love“. Love is of God. God is love. So he has the right to define it. And by his definition, love does not rejoice in unrighteousness. And love does rejoice with truth. So can you be saddened and outraged by the sin around you, and still be in God’s love? Yes! Can you be without joy when you see people lost in deception? Yes! Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Cry out to God and beg him for the deliverance of the nation, your communities, your family, your self. The poor in spirit know their “need” for God’s loving interventions.

And Believers don’t be afraid to stand. ¬†In the Bible we read often that God intervened and the evil armies/nations destroyed one another, while those trusting God were delivered. I myself am going to ask God to protect us as a nation, yet that might not mean that we won’t have internal wars going on. I only know that one day we all….individually, and as a nation, give account to God who reigns supreme. Many have access to bibles to give them God’s will ..they just don’t desire to follow it or to know him. So sad, too, for God gives everyone love, acceptance, and value, as they do embrace him. He empowers the believer to do His Will, and gives righteousness, peace, and joy though his Holy Spirit that comes to abide within any true believer in Christ. He is slow to anger and abounding in love. Warnings come nonstop, for grace has been restraining his anger at those who are living in defiance against him. He’d rather draw sinners and those deceived presently to him, to SAVE THEM from their sin and his wrath to come upon the nations in the end. Get into reading and studying God’s Word….read it…come to Jesus and learn of him…and your peace will come when you come to abide in Jesus.

As the verse in the graphic says, what CAN “destroy us” is the Lack of Knowledge…knowledge from the word of God, and not only factual carnal knowledge.

USA, Let’s Pray for our leaders… not wag our tongues in judgment or ridicule…

Pray for truth to be realized and that the darkness of ignorance dissipates…

And be at peace, while the world shakes around you, God is giving the USA opportunity to be saved, under Christ’s name. I am confident that God is in control and will hear the prayers of His People, no matter what the masses who act in ignorance and under media control do. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. This kind of fear refers to our respect, awe, and submission to God because he has the power to destroy both body and soul. He is so great, he laughs as the heathen nations rage in defiance against him! We must not fear man, who can only destroy the body. Let’s get our focus on trusting a sovereign God and aligning our own individual lives up with His Word and His Will. Amen?!

Friends and family…the safest place to be…is in intimacy with The Lord. Here are a few favorite verses in a favorite Psalm of mine:

Psalm 91:14-16

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

My Part: set my love upon the Lord (not only affections but obedience and attitudes); know his name (in other words, who He is!) , call upon him!

His Part: I will deliver you, I will set you in high, I will be with you in trouble, I will deliver you and honor you, I will satisfy you with a long life, and show you my salvation.

We have the EASY PART ūüėÄ…. And God? Well, His promised responses are way awesome! What a divine exchange!! Each one of those who can do the “My Part”, can go into an unknown future KNOWING God will do “His Part.” No Fear! Just Trust! Amen?!

Prodigals, it is time to return...to your Father who has opened arms. Please…hear me…Reread this scripture I began this blog¬†with… and choose you this day whom you desire to be like…¬†those of this darkened world? or those who desire to belong to Jesus, who will soon be the supreme ruler over all the whole world? In confusion? ¬†The truth is IN JESUS! Run please to him, for your future depends on it, and he will forgive and receive you, and everything he has and is becomes yours. How wonderful!

Google the lyrics of Joy To The World if you have a moment. Yes, the one we sing at Christmas! It begins, “Joy to the world. Let earth receive her King! Let every heart prepare Him room!” ¬†The Holy Spirit has prompted me to be singing that song at the piano recently, all the verses…even after Christmas. Could he be declaring aloud “He’s Coming Again Soon!?” “He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove, the glories of his righteousness and wonders of his love!” Perhaps I am only one of many who are declaring it so from my lips during worship.

To close…I pray,

“God, please hear the cries of all your people…see into their hearts…know their thoughts…”

and yet I hear you suddenly reply back to me… “Let the people hear My Cries, see into My Heart, and know My Thoughts!” ¬†

And we reply humbly, yet excitedly…

“Yes Lord. We will come TO YOU And seek your face.”

The Carnal Alphabet

I was scanning an old bulletin excerpt saved from probably 40 years ago from an old scrapbook of my parents and came across this, The Carnal Alphabet, typed on it, which also gave the author’s name. I found it so good and “awakening” to my own Self-Centered Carnal Self, I made it into a graphic so that I could share it as revelation to others as well. After all, Habbakuk 2:2, 3a says,¬†Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time…”

Amazing, isn’t it, how it depicts our society today. We, as a whole, worship Self, not God, and looking at this graphic really illuminates this fact:

carnal-alphabet

I really had my own eyes opened to how Carnal I myself am. How about you?

Now let’s take a look at Romans 8:6-8 and see what the Word says about being Carnal:

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Friends, you and I cannot please God living this way! (Yes, sadly, I am speaking to myself here too!)

The carnal mind is enmity against God. I googled it, and emnity means “the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.” ¬†I don’t know about you but I don’t want to be hostile toward God nor He to me. I want that life and peace that comes from being spiritually-minded…i.e. caring about what God has to say…about His Will, not my own…focusing on God’s opinion and not my own about things, etc.

Oh, how I pray this awakens anyone reading it today, as it has me. ¬†God help us all, to repent, changing our minds and focus…

Prayer:

God, show me when I am being Carnal… and when I am carnally-minded…focused on Self and the things of this world. And living For Me, and not For You. ¬†Open my eyes to see, and ears to hear, so that I can make changes and be led by Your Spirit, and focused on that which You desire me to be focused on. Eternal things… On Your Word, On loving others, On gratitude for all blessings, etc. ¬†

I desire the life and peace that is available to me, as I turn away from my self-focusing to Please You God. ¬†In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Wisdom for the Hour – Will Give you Peace and Power

Proverbs 28 and 29We know we are in the Will of God when we Pray and Live the Word of God.

God simply asked me to share these two Proverbs, so people can “Pray Them” and see where they “individually fit” within the parameters he sets forth in this book of great wisdom. Can you see where the USA has been, and where we could be headed, if we make one decision over another? If you are from another Nation, do you see that God’s words apply to your Nation too? This is really incredible insight given for This Hour, and this World’s Stage…especially Proverbs 29…for God will fulfill His Own Word. I am praying you will see and hear that which I do, about the importance of our decision making at this time, at every level; individuals, society, governments, nations. Proverbs 28:28 and Proverbs 29:2 pop out at me in particular, but others may pop out at you, as the Spirit of God gives you insight and wisdom as to the Hour and your own application of activating God’s Power. I just cut/paste this from my bible program. You can look up the scriptures on your lap in your bible, and use any version you’d like if you google them on the internet. Just please familiarize yourself with these scriptures, for they will be a good foundation for the times ahead. These scriptures will speak to believers and unbelievers alike, and if you are searching, God’s Word always holds “your answers”. I am praying that those who view this post will also be given a hunger and thirst after righteousness, and a desire to read more proverbs, more psalms, simple MORE WORD! The Word is the way God communicates His Will the clearest, so pray and ask Him for understanding and to speak to “you”. He loves you so much, and wants you to experience His Peace…as well as His Power…

Proverbs 28 New International Version (NIV)

28 The wicked flee though no one pursues,
    but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

2 When a country is rebellious, it has many rulers,
    but a ruler with discernment and knowledge maintains order.

3 A ruler who oppresses the poor
    is like a driving rain that leaves no crops.

4 Those who forsake instruction praise the wicked,
    but those who heed it resist them.

5 Evildoers do not understand what is right,
    but those who seek the Lord understand it fully.

6 Better the poor whose walk is blameless
    than the rich whose ways are perverse.

7 A discerning son heeds instruction,
    but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.

8 Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor
    amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.

9 If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction,
    even their prayers are detestable.

10 Whoever leads the upright along an evil path
    will fall into their own trap,
    but the blameless will receive a good inheritance.

11 The rich are wise in their own eyes;
    one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.

12 When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;
    but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.

13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
    but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,
    but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear
    is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.

16 A tyrannical ruler practices extortion,
    but one who hates ill-gotten gain will enjoy a long reign.

17 Anyone tormented by the guilt of murder
    will seek refuge in the grave;
    let no one hold them back.

18 The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe,
    but the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit.[b]

19 Those who work their land will have abundant food,
    but those who chase fantasies will have their fill of poverty.

20 A faithful person will be richly blessed,
    but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

21¬†To show partiality is not good‚ÄĒ
    yet a person will do wrong for a piece of bread.

22 The stingy are eager to get rich
    and are unaware that poverty awaits them.

23 Whoever rebukes a person will in the end gain favor
    rather than one who has a flattering tongue.

24 Whoever robs their father or mother
¬†¬†¬†¬†and says, ‚ÄúIt‚Äôs not wrong,‚ÄĚ
    is partner to one who destroys.

25 The greedy stir up conflict,
    but those who trust in the Lord will prosper.

26 Those who trust in themselves are fools,
    but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.

27 Those who give to the poor will lack nothing,
    but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses.

28 When the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding;
    but when the wicked perish, the righteous thrive.

29 Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes
¬†¬†¬†¬†will suddenly be destroyed‚ÄĒwithout remedy.

2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;
    when the wicked rule, the people groan.

3 A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father,
    but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.

4 By justice a king gives a country stability,
    but those who are greedy for bribes tear it down.

5 Those who flatter their neighbors
    are spreading nets for their feet.

6 Evildoers are snared by their own sin,
    but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

7 The righteous care about justice for the poor,
    but the wicked have no such concern.

8 Mockers stir up a city,
    but the wise turn away anger.

9 If a wise person goes to court with a fool,
    the fool rages and scoffs, and there is no peace.

10 The bloodthirsty hate a person of integrity
    and seek to kill the upright.

11 Fools give full vent to their rage,
    but the wise bring calm in the end.

12 If a ruler listens to lies,
    all his officials become wicked.

13 The poor and the oppressor have this in common:
    The Lord gives sight to the eyes of both.

14 If a king judges the poor with fairness,
    his throne will be established forever.

15 A rod and a reprimand impart wisdom,
    but a child left undisciplined disgraces its mother.

16 When the wicked thrive, so does sin,
    but the righteous will see their downfall.

17 Discipline your children, and they will give you peace;
    they will bring you the delights you desire.

18 Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint;
    but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction.

19 Servants cannot be corrected by mere words;
    though they understand, they will not respond.

20 Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
    There is more hope for a fool than for them.

21 A servant pampered from youth
    will turn out to be insolent.

22 An angry person stirs up conflict,
    and a hot-tempered person commits many sins.

23 Pride brings a person low,
    but the lowly in spirit gain honor.

24 The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
    they are put under oath and dare not testify.

25 Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
    but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

26 Many seek an audience with a ruler,
    but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.

27 The righteous detest the dishonest;
    the wicked detest the upright.
